Due to Indian stubbornness, there is a possibility that the scheduled Asian Cup will not happen. According to Indian media, after the tension between India and Pakistan, India has decided not to play Asian Cup this year.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to participate in the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup or the Men’s Asia Cup.

Indian media reports that the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup will take place in Sri Lanka in June, and the Men’s Asia Cup will take place in September this year.

According to a BCCI official, the Indian cricket team will not to participate in a competition that is led by a Pakistani minister because PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is the president of the Asian Cricket Council.

We have now orally notified the Asian Cricket Council that we will not be participating in the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup, and we have also put the remaining ACC tournaments on hold, according to a BCCI official. In this respect, we communicate with the government on a regular basis.

India is reportedly planning to withdraw from the Asia Cup, although the BCCI has not notified the Asian Cricket Council of its decision, according to sources.

According to Indian media, the BCCI reportedly decided to skip the competition because of the tension between India and Pakistan.

Remember that India is the defending Asia Cup champion and that the tournament is being held in India this year.
